The Benevolent Program allows HOJ to respond to the acute needs of young mothers, single parents, and vulnerable individuals who are in need of assistance. As with the Widow’s Might program, requests for this aid are applied for and recommended through friends and neighbors in addition to other service organizations. Assistance is in the form of paying bills for critical situations or counseling and mentoring during difficult times; no cash awards are given.
