"This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to care for the orphans and widows in their distress.” James 1:27
This program is designed to take the little or the “widow’s mite” and come alongside her to give her a “might” that she alone does not possess. This program within House of Joy is for the aid and defense of the widow who is in distress due to circumstances that make her vulnerable while being alone.
This aid is given in many forms and it is the need of the widow that shows us how to help. Help may come in several different ways; the following are just a few:
Monetary assistance to pay bills that provide for well-being and safety
Relocation assistance from one living situation to another
Providing consultations and mediation concerning business matters when not able to properly represent themselves.
Counseling for personal distress
Conversion of living quarters to accommodate handicap needs
Volunteers give of their expertise as well as time and money for the widows. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us
